Job summary

The Bexar Company is seeking an early-career CAD Designer/Drafter to turn engineering concepts into detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing. You will produce precise drawings and BOMs and work closely with Engineers to ensure design intent is clearly captured for production.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn CAD/design standards. Office-based with occasional plant visits, you will grow by taking on defined projects and progressively

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology or related field is a plus.
• 0–5+ years of design/drafting experience.
• Entry-level candidates with strong CAD training will be considered.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineering on new and existing projects from initial design through product launch.
• Create precise 2D drawings and 3D models of components and assemblies.
• Develop detailed drawings, sketches, and notes that meet engineering design and manufacturing standards.
• Ensure drawings include views, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications for manufacturing.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) with material specs, quantities, and part information.
• Process product and design changes through ECNs and internal task system.
• Collaborate with Engineers throughout design and development.
• Participate in weekly project planning meetings to align CAD/design and Engineering.
• Work on defined design projects and progressively manage assigned projects with oversight.
• Utilize Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to create and modify drawings and models.
• Support basic prototyping activities as needed.
