Job summary

Harvard University currently seeks a Maintenance Operator to support Facilities Maintenance Operations at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering & Applied Sciences in Allston, MA.

The role focuses on responding to and repairing HVAC and related building systems, reading plans, and delivering reliable maintenance services. Qualified candidates will have five years of related experience, the appropriate HVAC license, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience in maintenance and operation of complex building system infrastructure.
• Experience in installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Must possess a current State HVAC license (or equivalent).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides initial response, triage, stabilization and/or repair for building infrastructure maintenance requests, with emphasis on HVAC systems.
• Inspects, adjusts, modifies, and repairs boilers, heating and cooling systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Interprets mechanical plans and prints and updates as necessary.
• Monitors, queries and reports on the status of building systems managed by DDC technology.
• Initiates follow-up actions as required.
• Provides responsive customer support in all phases of building maintenance and operations.
• Assists and advises customers on maintenance solutions and provides follow-up on progress and status of work.
