Job summary

Omaha Eppley Airfield is seeking a Building Engineer to perform preventive and routine maintenance on mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, and chillers. The role involves operating HVAC controls, coordinating with shifts, and ensuring smooth operations within the terminal and adjacent facilities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a Third Grade Stationary Engineer’s license or higher, and physical ability to lift heavy items. Overtime is possible as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required and ability to read and write.
• City of Omaha, Third Grade Stationary Engineer’s license or higher.
• General maintenance to repair a wide variety of equipment and machinery.
• Plumbing, refrigeration, electronics, and pneumatic control experience.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds and operate snow removal equipment.
• Ability to obtain Non-movement Area certification by end of probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment (HVAC, boilers, chillers, etc.).
• Work with outside contractors for mechanical equipment maintenance and general repairs.
• Operate HVAC computer control systems.
• Maintain terminal building and supporting facilities including lights, doors, ceilings, elevators, and generators.
• Perform snow removal and sweeping around terminal and front drive areas.
• Coordinate tasks with other shifts to ensure continuity of operation.
• Communicate essential information using company radios according to protocols.
