Job summary

Omaha Airport Authority is seeking a Building Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across terminal facilities. The role focuses on HVAC systems operation, mechanical equipment, and coordinating with contractors as needed.

The position requires 40 hours weekly with potential overtime in a non-exempt Facilities Maintenance Department, reporting to the Building Engineer Supervisor. A valid license and physical capability for heavy work are essential.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing ability is required.
• City of Omaha Third Grade Stationary Engineer’s license or higher is required.
• Mechanical aptitude to understand and repair a wide variety of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, boilers, chillers, and other mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Operate HVAC computer control systems and ensure proper building operations.
• Maintenance across the terminal and related facilities, including lighting, doors, elevators, and generators.
• Perform snow removal and sweeping around the terminal and drive areas.
• Communicate tasks and priorities with shifts and departments to ensure smooth operation.
