Job summary

SHP in Cincinnati, OH seeks an Engineering Intern focused on HVAC and mechanical building systems. You’ll gain hands-on project experience and learn from mentors in a collaborative design environment.

You’ll assist with load calculations, equipment sizing, Revit-based models, and energy studies, collaborating with architects, engineers, and designers. Onsite in Cincinnati; pay starts at $20/hour and increases with each term.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree with interest in HVAC and building systems.
• Curious about building performance and energy efficiency.
• Familiarity with Revit; exposure to AutoCAD or energy modeling tools is a plus.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn via hands-on projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and documentation of HVAC and mechanical systems for various building types.
• Support load calculations, equipment sizing, and layouts.
• Contribute to Revit-based models, drawings, and schedules.
• Participate in energy modeling, sustainability studies, and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate systems with architecture and MEP disciplines.
