Job summary

SHP Leading Design is seeking an Engineering Intern focused on electrical building systems in Cincinnati, OH (onsite). You will gain hands-on experience assisting in design and documentation, collaborating with architects, engineers, and interior designers.

Ideal candidates are Electrical Engineering students (Junior to Graduate) with interest in building systems, comfortable with Revit and Microsoft Office; exposure to lighting software or AutoCAD is a plus; eagerness to learn in a

Qualifications

Pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree (Junior, Senior, or Graduate).
Curious about how electrical infrastructure supports architectural design.
Comfortable using Revit and Microsoft Office; exposure to lighting software, AutoCAD, or electrical analysis tools is a plus.
Detail‑oriented, analytical, and eager to learn in a collaborative studio.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and documentation of electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency systems.
Support lighting calculations, load calculations, and coordination of electrical layouts within Revit models.
Contribute to drawing sets and schedules used for design development and construction documentation.
Learn how electrical systems coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural elements.
Participate in interdisciplinary coordination with architects, interior designers, and engineers.
Support sustainability and energy‑related efforts, such as lighting efficiency and code compliance.
