SUNY Erie Community College seeks a qualified instructor for Building Management and Maintenance to develop and deliver curriculum in facilities management, HVAC‑R, and related fields. You will guide students through lab work, theory, and practice, aligning courses with program outcomes and college standards.

The role requires teaching experience, strong knowledge of building systems, and the ability to foster an inclusive college environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in construction, electrical or industrial fields with relevant degrees or teaching experience.
• EPA 608 certification required for HVAC‑R area.

Responsibilities

• Teach in Building Management program and align coursework with outcomes.
• Develop syllabi, explain concepts, and assess student performance.
• Advise students, hold office hours, and participate in college committees.
• Support inclusive learning environments and adhere to college policies.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management engineering technology, civil engineering or civil engineering technology, industrial engineering or industrial engineering technology, architecture, electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology, technical education, building management or related construction and facilities management areas.

Associate’s degree (AOS or AAS) in any construction or building related field with five years of verifiable teaching experience

Journeyman status in their profession with five years of verifiable teaching experience

EPA 608 Universal certification to handle refrigerants

Master's degree (pref.) in related field
