Job summary

State of North Carolina - Adult Correction is seeking an Electronics Technician III to support SE&R Field Services across correctional facilities. The role installs, commissions, and troubleshoots HVAC building automation systems and complex electronic metering equipment, with hands-on installation and startup of BAS.

You will document work orders, procure materials, maintain accurate records, and follow safety protocols while collaborating with maintenance staff, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electronics from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressive experience in the repair and maintenance of complex electronic systems including some responsibility for the design of electronic apparatus
• An equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and start up HVAC building automation systems in correctional facilities.
• Perform conduit and raceway installation, wire pulling, device mounting, and field termination tasks.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic metering and HVAC automation system components.
• Support facility maintenance personnel with technical guidance and on site problem resolution.
• Complete and document HVAC BAS related work orders in accordance with departmental standards.
• Maintain accurate records of requisitions, direct billing, and purchasing card transactions.
