HVAC Boiler Technician Job Summary:

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of commercial/industrial boilers and associated equipment. The individual will leverage their knowledge of boiler systems and components to provide service, maintenance, technical support, start-up, and commissioning of various heating systems. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of both construction and service processes used in field operations.

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, relay logic, control/safety circuits, electronic boards, PLCs, and displays.
• Install, start-up, and commission new and replacement boiler systems, including expansion tanks, pumps, water level controls, etc.
• Calibrate and adjust burner controls for optimal boiler/burner performance.
• Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layouts.
• Perform diagnostic operations to identify opportunities for improving heating system performance.
• Respond proactively to customer needs by completing preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements of DDC and mechanical equipment promptly.
• Answer customer questions, provide training, and respond to special requests.
• Complete documentation of work performed, including time, materials, and recommendations.
• Work safely, adhere to safety protocols, and use safety equipment; comply with EPA and OSHA policies.
• Communicate with service coordinator regarding project progress and scheduling.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, preparing for jobs, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining communication with customers and staff.

Experience, Skills & Attributes Required:

• 5+ years of commercial boiler field experience or a combination of 2 years of education and training.
• Familiarity with multiple boiler manufacturers such as Clever-Brooks, Lochinvar, Hurst, Burnham, Triad, Fulton, Patterson-Kelley, Aerco, etc.
• Proficiency with boiler/burner controls like Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens Linkageless, Powerflame.
• Understanding of building automation systems interacting with boiler operation and control of related equipment.
• Knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems, including central plants, chillers, boilers, pumps, and distributed cooling/heating systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma required.

• Regular same-day travel required; occasional overnight travel may be necessary.

Authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S. without restrictions or sponsorship.

Position is full-time, Monday – Friday.
