Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Orlando, FL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the MEP team. You will support HVAC and mechanical systems design for diverse projects and develop Revit/BIM models.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architects and contractors, field verification, and preparation of specifications and energy documents. A ABET-accredited degree and EIT/EI are preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant mechanical/HVAC experience.
• EIT/EI certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support HVAC and mechanical systems design for commercial, hospitality, municipal, and federal projects.
• Perform HVAC load calculations, ventilation analysis, and system sizing/selection.
• Develop Revit/BIM models and construction documents including ductwork and piping layouts.
• Assist in preparation of technical specifications and energy compliance documentation (e.g., COMcheck).
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and collaborate with architects, contractors, and project teams.
• Conduct field investigations and site visits to document conditions and support design development.
• Assist with construction administration tasks such as submittal reviews and RFIs.
