Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking an HVAC / BAS Technician II to support customers across Northern New Jersey. The role focuses on diagnosing, maintaining, commissioning, and improving HVAC and building automation systems in a hands-on, customer-facing capacity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HVAC controls, BAS/BMS, building automation, or HVAC service experience.
• Electrical technician or low-voltage electrical background strongly preferred.
• Two-year technical degree or equivalent HVAC controls/BAS/BMS related experience.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC, BAS/BMS, and Energy Management Systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software, including controllers, sensors, VAVs, AHUs, panels, networks, and front ends.
• Perform service, preventative maintenance, commissioning, and system startup.
• Install and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring and panel terminations using drawings and submittals.
• Work with BACnet and Modbus networking and BAS software.
• Identify system deficiencies and recommend improvements or modifications.
• Communicate with customers and provide professional updates during troubleshooting.
• Work independently to assess problems and resolve issues.
• Support commissioning activities and coordinate with project teams and third-party commissioning agents.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for time-sensitive needs.
