Job summary

HTS Engineering Ltd. in Houston, TX seeks an HVAC & BAS Technician to coordinate and support district-wide HVAC and BAS operations through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and optimization of systems.

You will work with district staff, contractors, and campus teams to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient facilities. This role requires hands-on skills, adherence to safety standards, and strong communication with all levels of management within the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Supports district-wide HVAC operations, energy management initiatives, and operational efficiency programs
• Experience with commercial HVAC/BAS systems, projects, and controls
• Knowledge of boiler systems, hydronic systems, pumps, and ventilation equipment
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and communication protocols
• Knowledge of facility maintenance systems, building operations, life safety systems, AHERA, ADA, OSHA, and applicable
• Strong detail-orientation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and supporting Central Office and district-wide HVAC and BAS operations through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and optimization.
• Installs, inspects, maintains, tests, and repairs HVAC equipment, BAS components, controls, and related systems
• Programs, configures, monitors, and optimizes Building Automation Systems and field devices
• Reviews control sequences and project submittals to improve system performance
• Assists with HVAC/BAS commissioning for new construction and renovations
• Maintains service records, maintenance logs, and BAS documentation
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and district procedures
• Provides guidance and support to maintenance staff and contractors
