Job summary

Nextech is seeking an Area Service Manager in Detroit to lead a team of HVAC service technicians, oversee recruiting and development, and ensure high-quality field work. This role reports to the Operations Manager and requires strong leadership and technical expertise.

Responsibilities include supervising technicians, forecasting staffing needs, maintaining customer relationships, and leading service meetings to drive performance. Travel as needed to support multiple markets is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years as an HVAC Service Technician; management or leadership experience is a plus.
• Technical knowledge to support technicians and customers.
• Commitment to ongoing education and keeping up with industry trends.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and resolve concerns locally.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and deadline management.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Experience recruiting and hiring technicians.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire technicians for the region.
• Supervise and develop the technician workforce.
• Forecast company needs and hire accordingly.
• Ensure technician productivity meets targets.
• Maintain local customer relationships with RSM and Account Managers.
• Lead weekly service meetings and provide performance feedback.
• Ensure safety and enforce company policies.
• Oversee service operations and quality of work.
• Conduct ride-alongs with technicians.
• Perform annual technician reviews with VP approval.
