Pay: $17.05/hr

Position Summary

Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric is the largest residential HVAC contractor in North America and we are looking to grow our Install Division. The HVAC Install Apprentice assists the Lead Installer with residential and light commercial HVAC installations while developing the skills needed to perform installation work safely and efficiently. Under supervision, this position assists with equipment installation, system testing, job documentation, and work-area cleanup. The apprentice follows company standards, manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and safety procedures while providing professional customer service.

Essential Functions

• Assist the Lead Installer with installing residential and light commercial furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, thermostats, indoor air quality products, and related HVAC equipment.
• Follow the Lead Installer's instructions and complete assigned tasks appropriate to training and skill level; ask for guidance when needed.
• Prepare and organize tools, equipment, and materials; assist with lifting, carrying, and positioning equipment using proper lifting procedures and required assistance.
• Learn and assist with electrical wiring, refrigerant piping, gas piping, venting, condensate drainage, sheet metal fabrication, and ductwork under the Lead Installer's supervision.
• Assist with testing, startup, and verification of installed systems; report installation issues to the Lead Installer.
• Assist with pre-trip inspections of company vehicles and report repair or maintenance needs. Complete driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) when assigned.
• Operate motor vehicles and equipment, when assigned, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, applicable building codes, and manufacturer specifications.
• Report all accidents, incidents, injuries, property damage, near misses, and unsafe working conditions immediately and in accordance with company policies.
• Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Attend and successfully complete all required training programs and participate in hands-on instruction.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and coworkers; refer questions about system operation, installation concerns, or project changes to the Lead Installer.
• Notify the Lead Installer promptly of project issues, delays, missing materials, or needed changes.
• Assist with completing required job documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; protect customer property and report any damage or safety concerns.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Entry-level position; prior HVAC installation experience or related training preferred.
• Willingness to learn and follow the direction of the Lead Installer and Install Manager.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to learn residential HVAC installation principles, including electrical wiring, refrigerant piping, refrigerant charging and handling, gas piping, venting, condensate drainage, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, indoor air quality (IAQ) equipment, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to safely use HVAC tools, equipment, and power tools with training and supervision.

Working Conditions / Environment

Work is performed in customer homes and light commercial settings, including basements, attics, crawlspaces, garages, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor areas. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, extreme temperatures, dust, noise, fumes, chemicals, electrical systems, and confined spaces. The position requires frequent travel to customer locations and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
