Job summary

Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric is seeking a Lead HVAC Installer to install residential and light commercial HVAC systems. You will lead an HVAC apprentice, ensure high-quality workmanship, and communicate with customers to resolve installation issues in Bedford Park, IL.

Responsibilities include testing systems, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining accurate installation documentation while adhering to safety policies and codes.

Qualifications

• Two years of residential HVAC installation experience preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Valid driver''s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Working knowledge of residential HVAC installation principles and codes.

Responsibilities

• Install residential and light commercial furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, thermostats, IAQ equipment, and related HVAC equipment.
• Coach, train, and direct the daily work of an HVAC apprentice.
• Test, start up, and verify proper operation of installed systems; resolve installation issues.
• Conduct and document pre-trip inspections of company vehicles and report maintenance needs.
• Follow safety policies, OSHA requirements, and building codes; use PPE as required.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners about installation progress and system operation.
• Complete job documentation accurately and promptly.

Position Summary

Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric is the largest residential HVAC contractor in North America, and we are looking to grow our Install Division. The Lead HVAC Installer is responsible for installing residential and light commercial HVAC installation projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, manufacturer specifications, and all applicable codes and regulations. This position directs the daily work of an assigned HVAC apprentice, ensures high-quality workmanship, communicates professionally with customers, resolves installation issues in the field, and completes all required installation documentation accurately and on time.

Essential Functions

• Install residential and light commercial furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, thermostats, indoor air quality products, and related HVAC equipment.
• Coach, train, and direct the daily work of an assigned HVAC apprentice and provide on-the-job guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and quality installations.
• Test, start up, and verify proper operation of installed systems; identify and resolve installation issues.
• Conduct and document pre-trip inspections of company vehicles, submit driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) to report any repair and maintenance needs.
• Operate motor vehicles and all equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, applicable building codes, and manufacturer specifications.
• Report all accidents, incidents, injuries, property damage, near misses and unsafe working conditions immediately and in accordance with company policies.
• Wear and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Attend and successfully complete all required training programs as assigned, when required.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding installation progress, system operation, and basic maintenance.
• Identify and communicate project issues, delays, or change requirements promptly.
• Complete required job documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; protect customer property and report any damage or safety concerns.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two years of residential HVAC installation experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a Lead HVAC Installer or in a lead HVAC installation role preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Working knowledge of residential HVAC installation principles, including electrical wiring, refrigerant piping, refrigerant charging and handling, gas piping, venting, condensate drainage, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, indoor air quality (IAQ) equipment, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to safely use HVAC tools, equipment, and power tools.

Working Conditions / Environment

Work is performed in customer homes and light commercial settings, including basements, attics, crawlspaces, garages, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor areas. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, extreme temperatures, dust, noise, fumes, chemicals, electrical systems, and confined spaces. The position requires frequent travel to customer locations and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
