Job summary

Leonard Powers Inc. in New York City is seeking an HVAC Applications Engineer–Inside Sales to design and quote specialized HVAC systems for top-tier engineering firms and contractors.

You will couple technical design with sales, coordinate orders, and support on-time delivery across the NYC Metro area, Long Island, and Westchester, while collaborating with outside sales to accelerate deal flow and resolve complex challenges.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, solution-oriented problem solving for complex projects.
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Exceptional oral and written communication with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration and team-first mindset.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Outside Sales Representatives to streamline project workflows, optimize sales strategies, and elevate client satisfaction.
• Review engineering design plans and utilize selection software to build tailored HVAC system configurations that meet exact client specs and regulatory standards.
• Develop comprehensive technical proposals featuring precise pricing, specifications, and system layouts to support contractor decision-making.
• Oversee full-cycle order management—partnering directly with manufacturers like Armstrong International and Miura Boilers to ensure accurate fabrication and on-time delivery.
• Establish robust order-tracking systems to proactively identify, communicate, and resolve supply chain delays or logistical bottlenecks.
• Compile complete submittal and documentation packets, detailing site specifications, operational guidelines, and maintenance manuals for field teams.
• Facilitate training sessions for clients and operational personnel to ensure seamless system startup, operation, and maintenance.
