Bucks County Community College is seeking an HVAC and Plumbing Mechanic for our Newtown Campus. You will operate, maintain, and repair campus HVAC, plumbing, and BAS control systems, ensuring reliable climate control and water systems across facilities.

The role requires knowledge of boilers, steam/hot water systems, chillers, refrigeration, electrical controls, and water treatment, with 3–5 years’ related experience.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in the service, maintenance, repair, and installation of air handling equipment and components.
• 3-5 years’ experience working with BAS and mechanical systems
• Ability to fabricate and install piping and tubing for plumbing and HVAC repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with equipment electrically and mechanically with meters, gauges, and computer diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair campus HVAC, Plumbing, and BAS Control systems.
• Understand boilers, steam and hot water heating systems, chillers, refrigeration equipment, electrical controls, and water treatment.
• Inspect and maintain heating supply/return lines and repair/replace strainers, valves, and fittings as needed.

Job Title: HVAC and Plumbing Mechanic

Location: Newtown Campus

Shift: 1st Shift - 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

The primary responsibilities of the HVAC and Plumbing Mechanic include the operation, maintenance, and repair of campus HVAC, Plumbing, and BAS Control systems.

This position requires understanding of boilers, steam and hot water heating systems, chillers and chilled water systems, refrigeration equipment, electrical controls, building automation, plumbing, and water treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 3-5 years’ experience in the service, maintenance, repair, and installation of air handling equipment, such as uninvents, fan coils, exhaust fans, make up air fans, unit heaters, air handling units for single and multiple zones to include lubrication, filter changing, coil cleaning, changing belts and bearings.
• 3-5 years’ experience working with BAS and mechanical systems
• Understand and demonstrate the ability to fabricate and install piping and tubing for plumbing and HVAC repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with equipment electrically and mechanically with meters, gauges, and computer diagnostics.
• Experience Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing building heating supply and return lines, as well as cleaning, repairing and replacing strainers, valves, and other fittings as required.
• Ability to work from ladders and lifts to access equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and a valid driver’s license.

Hourly Rate

Hourly Rate: $33.70/hr. Additional certifications may also qualify you for an hourly bonus.
