Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated HVAC Technician for full-time work around the hospital complex. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of HVACR systems, with emphasis on electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing components and Life Safety regulatory compliance.

The incumbent will complete work orders, maintain logs, and operate the Building Management System to monitor HVAC and alarm systems. A focus on safety and accurate documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• Performs a variety of Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning services as related to installation, maintenance, and repair in and around the hospital complex.
• Routinely trouble shoots and repairs electrical pneumatic and plumbing components of HVACR systems and sub-systems.
• Documentation of work orders and scheduled maintenance as it pertains to Life Safety and other regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders, preventative maintenance, logs, and performance testing on schedule.
• Remove snow and ice as required.
• Troubleshoot, replace, and calibrate sensors and controls of the Buildings Management System.
• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment and related electrical, pneumatic, hot water and steam subsystems.
• Record time and material expended and requisition materials.
• Assist other trades as needed by management.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems and a clean, safe work environment.
• Operate Buildings Management System to control HVAC and alarms.

Responsible for documentation of work orders and scheduled maintenance as it pertains to Life Safety and other regulatory agencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for timely completion of work orders, Preventative Maintenance, Logs, Performance testing and other documentation
• Remove snow and ice.
• Reports, trouble shoots, replaces, and calibrates sensors and controls of the Buildings Management System
• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment and all associated electrical, pneumatic, hot water and steam sub-systems.
• Accurately requisition materials, maintains files and records. Record time and material expended.
• Assist other trades as appropriate or assigned by management.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems.
• Maintain a clean safe work environment, including storage and shop areas.
• Responsible for operation of Buildings Management System to control HVAC and other integrated systems and alarms.
