Job summary

The H-J Family of Companies in Missouri is seeking a Test Engineer to support and improve our test lab operations. You will plan and execute electrical, mechanical, thermal, environmental, and chemical tests on bushings and related components to meet IEEE/IEC specs and ISO 17025 accreditation.

You will design test fixtures in SolidWorks, prepare cost estimates, interface with customers and internal teams, and contribute to continuous improvement and lab safety while traveling up to 5% to Mexico.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience.
• 5 years’ experience with high voltage testing and calibration services.
• Experience developing test specifications and metrological traceability.
• 4 years implementing ISO 17025 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute design type testing of EPC bushings and related components.
• Prepare cost estimates for testing services.
• Interface with customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to define test requirements.
• Develop test methods to reduce cost and time with fixtures and procedures.
• Support test lab safety procedures and ISO 17025 accreditation.
• Prepare certified test reports of projects.
