Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Technical Lead Substation Design Engineer to spearhead FACTS projects across distribution, sub transmission, and transmission voltage classes. You will apply IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, and ISO/RTO standards to define requirements, review deliverables, and collaborate with owner and OEM resources.

Preferred candidates bring 5+ years in HV substation design, project leadership experience, and professional engineer licensure, with strong communication to bridge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV substation design efforts for FACTS projects.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE/IEC/ NEC/NESC/NERC/ISO standards.
• Coordinate with owner, OEM resources and project team.
• Prepare engineering deliverables and manage budgets/schedules.
• Mentor junior staff and drive knowledge sharing.
