Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking an experienced HV Strike Team Technician I to support planned outages and high‑voltage maintenance across the NEER fleet. The role requires reading DC schematics, coordinating with multiple teams, and ensuring safety and compliance in all activities.

Based at a renewables site with 40–50% travel, the position emphasizes teamwork, outage planning, and precise documentation of test results and turnover records for audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience: 4+ years in high‑voltage/substation environments.
• Valid driver’s license (non‑CDL).
• Ability to read and interpret DC electrical schematics, one‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, relay drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and construction tasks on substations, transmission, and collection systems.
• Coordinate data communication equipment and field testing activities.
• Support emergency repairs and outages within defined geographical areas with cross‑functional teams.
• Manage high voltage inventory, vehicles, and equipment according to safety standards.
• Document as‑found and as‑left conditions, test results, and discrepancies for turnover packages.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and market requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to safely complete outages within windows.
• Achieve Yellow Belt certification and coach others in the company quality process.
• Maintain safety culture and respond to incidents with proper procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
