Job summary

Power & Construction Group in Rochester, NY seeks a Project Manager to support electrical project portfolios. Responsibilities include bidding, planning, procurement, scheduling, and maintaining customer relationships while meeting quality and safety standards.

The role requires coordinating with vendors, preparing estimates, and ensuring proper documentation. AAS degree and 6–10 years of PM experience are preferred, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• AAS degree in a relevant field.
• 6-10 years of project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of medium voltage electricity transmission and distribution; substations a big plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively via phone and email.
• Proven ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; manage multiple projects.
• Excellent collaboration across the organization.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Bid to Win.
• Understanding of construction documentation (contracts, drawings, specs).
• Excellent analytical skills; strong problem solving; attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
• Familiarity with data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects.
• Exemplary negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Bid on projects: attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walk-throughs.
• Coordinate with vendors for pricing.
• Create material takeoffs and process RFIs.
• Prepare and submit project estimates and bids.
• Plan and schedule work with customers, communicate progress.
• Line up materials, machinery, and tools.
• Schedule work to complete the project scope.
• Create site safety plans with the Safety department.
• Produce and distribute memos, letters, and forms.
• Generate documents to bill work, including change orders.
• Prepare regularly scheduled project reports.
• Monitor progress and troubleshoot challenges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
