Job summary

Rising Edge Group in North America is seeking an HV Commissioning Manager to lead field testing, commissioning, and switching activities across multiple projects. You will manage a team of commissioning technologists and subcontractors, coordinate with Project Managers, and drive safety and quality on site.

This leadership role requires a strong electrical engineering background, 5+ years of supervisory experience, and willingness to travel to field sites, including out-of-town assignments.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of field testing and commissioning.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in utility and/or industrial sectors.
• Strong proficiency with computer systems and relevant software.
• Certified/qualified in switching operations (e.g., Switchman, GOI/LOTO, EB&G)
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and workplace health standards
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Comfortable working at heights
• Willingness to travel, work out of town, and operate on rotational schedules as required
• Flexibility to work extended hours or on-call based on project demands

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise commissioning teams across multiple HV/MV projects.
• Primarily field-based role with travel to remote sites.
• Oversee commissioning and switching deliverables and project interfaces.
• Enforce safety protocols and adapt them to site-specific risks.
• Plan, train, and supervise personnel and performance.
• Ensure timely execution and integration with project/operations.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers and Field Staff.
• Draft/Review/Approve test and safety procedures and policies.
• Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Management teams.
• Lead client meetings and resolve issues and deficiencies.
• Contribute to proposals and project pricing for clients.
• Maintain clear communication among project participants to keep projects on time and budget.
• Mentor junior staff and monitor development and reviews.
• Coordinate with PM team for commissioning and energization phases.
• Lead daily and weekly progress reviews and resource planning.
• Support HR in recruitment and staff development.
• Assist with on-site safety and productivity enhancements.
