Job summary

HICO America, with headquarters in Pittsburgh, is seeking an HVCB Application Engineer to provide technical review and field support for high-voltage dead tank circuit breakers. The role spans bid through post-completion support, interfacing with sales, project management, design, and field teams in the US.

You will review customer requirements, coordinate with global engineering, and assist in design changes to meet specifications and reliability targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline; 2-7 years’ experience in design, manufacturing, testing, field service, or application engineering.
• Developed analytical skills and strong computer skills, including MS Office.
• Experience in the Transmission, Distribution, or Generation industry; ability to read transmission one-lines and schematics.
• Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE C37 standards and high-voltage testing requirements.
• Ability to work with customers, factories, and cross-functional engineering teams on technically complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming RFPs and identify major requirements during bidding stage.
• Support design teams with drawings, BOMs, and customer specifications to ensure technical compliance.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders on transmission utility approvals and technical compliance.
• Provide technical guidance during installation, commissioning, and field support for high-voltage dead-tank circuit breakers.
• Participate in design reviews, FAT, and root cause analysis to drive project success.
