Job summary

Paycom in Rockville, MD seeks a Husbandry Technician I, Vivarium Operations, to support in vivo oncology studies in mice as part of the Vivarium Operations team.

You will perform daily cage checks, weekly cage changes, monitor animal health, and report concerns. Duties include sanitation, material transport, data entry in the LIMS, and adherence to study protocols. Weekend/holiday rotations are required.

Qualifications

• GED is required.
• AALAS ALAT certification preferred.
• 1 year related experience in a CRO or similar setting preferred.

TITLE / CLASSIFICATION: Husbandry Technician I, Vivarium Operations / Non-exempt PositionREPORTING LOCATION: Rockville, MDREPORTS TO: Supervisor, Vivarium OperationsSCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PMPRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Support in vivo oncology research studies in mice as a member of the Vivarium Operations Husbandry Team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform daily cage checks and weekly cage changes.Monitor animal health and report animal health concerns.Perform general sanitation on equipment, rooms, and facilities.Transport materials, supplies, and waste.Assist with surgical staple removal and study randomization.Record data within room logs and the laboratory information management system.Read, understand, and adhere to study protocols.Perform general preparation and organizational activities, including supply organization and stocking, and laboratory organization.Work weekends and holidays on rotating basis.PRODUCTIVITY EXPECTATIONS: 300 cage checks/hour; 80 cage changes/hour; 90 staple removals/hour.
