You will perform procedures such as handling, tumor measurement, compound administration, and blood collection, and you will document data in the LIMS system. Preferred BS in animal science or related field, AALAS ALAT certification, and 1 year CRO or similar research experience.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in animal science, biology, pharmacology, or related field preferred.
  • AALAS ALAT certification preferred.
  • 1 year of related CRO or research experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and data recording abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-life procedures on mice: handling, restraint, body weight and tumor volume measurements, compound administration, blood collection and euthanasia.
  • Record study data in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Follow study protocols and perform general study prep, labeling, stocking and organization.
  • Work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and work in vivarium with odors, chemicals and sharps.

TITLE: Research Technician I, Study ServicesREPORTING LOCATION: Rockville, MDREPORTS TO: Supervisor, Study ServicesPRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Support in vivo oncology research studies in mice as a member of the Study Services Team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform in-life technical procedures on mice, including handling, restraint, body weight measurement, tumor volume measurement with calipers or imaging device, compound administration, blood collection, and euthanasia.Record study data within the laboratory information management system.Read, understand, and adhere to study protocols.Perform general study preparation and organizational activities, including sample tube labeling, supply organization and stocking, and laboratory organization.Work weekends and holidays on rotating basis.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:TEAM PLAYER.
