Job summary

Job description

The employee in this classification shall report to the Regional IMPACT Director. The responsibilities are both administrative and field oriented. The Human Trafficking Specialist conducts outreach in areas designated as hot spots for human trafficking. Specialists are responsible for encountering and engaging potential victims, conducting assessments and providing the appropriate victim services. The HT Specialist also works side by side with the Navigator Program to ensure individuals encountered who are not HT victims are referred for assistance to the Navigator Program.

SCOPE OF DUTIES
  • 1. Interact (verbally and nonverbally) with all clients, staff and community members professionally with respect and courtesy.
  • 2. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meeting, conferences and training sessions, meetings as requested and include HT assessment trainings as required by the grant.
  • 3. Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with operational policies and procedures.
  • 4. Identify and respond to potential outreach and HT related training that is suitable for the program.
  • 5. Act as a liaison between the program and the community, to include community partners.
  • 6. Conduct a thorough assessment and collect all assessment and related research data and process information in the Give Hope Database.
  • 7. Develop and maintain positive relationships with funding and partnering agencies, and maintain compliance with all organizational policies.
  • 8. Develop and maintain positive relationships with community resources, including service providers and planning bodies, elected officials, law enforcement, civic and religious associations.
  • 9. Identify and present to the Regional IMPACT Director matters requiring decisions.
  • 10. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshop’s on a variety of human trafficking related topics.
  • 11. Plan and present planning information sessions/community forums on behalf of VOADV three times per year.
  • 12. Other duties as assigned.
ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • 5. Regularly required to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
  • 6. Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
  • 7. Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while remain fixed on a given point.
CREDENTIALS/ABILITIES:

The employee in this position must have a Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience accepted but five preferred in a human services field. Additionally, experience working with trauma informed care and/or victims of human trafficking. Good oral and written communications and organization skills. Employee must have functioning knowledge of computer software, specifically Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel and Word.Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet agency standards.
