Job summary

Mathematica is seeking researchers in the Human Services department to support evaluation and program improvement for diverse clients, including families and youth, across federal, state, and local projects.

The role emphasizes designing and carrying out research, advising on policy and strategy, and linking data to answer policy-relevant questions with a focus on child welfare and TANF programs. Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Masters with equivalent experience in public policy, social science, or related field.
• Strong quantitative research skills and experience with research design and analysis of multiple data sources.
• Mixed-methods experience is valued and certification with evidence standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation technical assistance to programs serving youth and families to build evaluation capacity.
• Learn and apply new methods and technologies, including AI-enabled tools and data viz platforms.
• Design rigorous mixed-methods evaluations with primary and secondary data collection.
