Job summary

Mathematica seeks entry-level Project Associates with an interest in managing federal or foundation-funded human services programs. You will support project operations, including scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, and coordination, working with project directors and clients to meet objectives on time and within budget.

Candidates should have some familiarity with TANF, economic mobility, family strengthening, child welfare or related topics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with excellent academic record.
• 1-3 years' experience related to business analysis, government program operations, consulting, research, or data analysis.
• Interest in project management and evaluating government programs for quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and technological innovation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Project.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to write clearly and work in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of projects by developing and tracking components of project operations, including schedules, finances, and logistics.
• Execute project management activities: build schedules, track budget, schedule meetings, prepare materials, track deliverables, and take notes.
• Evaluate operational components of projects and outline risks, options, and solutions for senior staff or client agencies.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy and security requirements and contractual stipulations.
• Communicate with stakeholders to successfully execute project work.
• Record and analyze project expenditures, including subcontractor costs and forecasts.
• Support research and evaluation activities, including interviews, literature reviews, training, and logistical support.
