Job summary

As a Human Services Program Representative 1 with the Department of Human Services, you help ensure that facilities and services meet important standards. This role allows you to support quality assurance efforts, review program operations, and provide guidance to facilities statewide. Join a team dedicated to building safe, effective, and responsive juvenile justice services.



This role provides program guidance, evaluates statewide services, and supports the improvement of juvenile justice operations. As a Human Services Program Representative 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Evaluation:Review institutions to assess performance, compliance, and service quality
  • Technical Assistance:Provide guidance on treatment practices, safety procedures, and program standards
  • Quality Assurance:Support data review, reporting, and process improvements across Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services' facilities
  • Policy Support:Assist with developing, revising, and interpreting policies and regulations
  • Investigative Review:Examine complaints and incidents and prepare detailed reports of findings
  • Collaboration Efforts:Work with statewide partners to strengthen strategies for delinquent youth

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating a human service program, and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
