Qualifications

Job Duties

Supports the agency mission by overseeing multiple agency wide programs and services. Responsible for all operational, technical, administrative, and programmatic activities associated with service delivery. Actions are typically long range in nature and include supervision of program staff, consultation, resource acquisition and utilization, approving new programs and services or changes to existing ones. Evaluates operational and service effectiveness, prioritizes actions across assigned program and operational areas. Integrate system activities with other agency and service providers to promote continuity and efficiency. May perform strategic planning. Typically reports to an Assistant Commissioner or higher level.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in the supervision and management of public health personnel and teams.
• Knowledge and experience in surveillance and epidemiology of communicable diseases and/or reportable conditions.
• Experience in public health emergency responses such as outbreak management and control.
• Experience in the development and maintenance of internal and external stakeholder relationships, including government officials, lawmakers & others.
• Experience with the interpretation and application of relevant public health laws, regulations, and policies
• Experience administering public health programs, such as developing program plans, objectives and budgets and tracking progress and managing projects and employees
• Demonstrated experience in the preparation and management of federal public health grants and budgets.
• Experience in assuring timely, reliable and thorough public health technical expertise.
