Job description

Position Description

The position is a Human Resources Technician VI in the SR-15 pay range. The starting salary is between the minimum and maximum range listed above and will be determined by the hiring authority based on qualifications. Recruitment Number 26-122TO; Honolulu, Oahu.

Salary
  • Salary: $4,221 to $6,003 per month, effective July 1, 2026.
Summary Of Duties

Supervises and participates in the performance of substantive human resources clerical work which may include, but not limited to, recruitment, classification, training and/or employee relations; includes a significant proportion of novel and/or unusually complicated work and/or limited technical assistance work; independently performs the full range of technical human resources work; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Generalized Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible general office clerical experience.
  • Specialized Experience: Four (4) years of experience in an office where the work required the knowledge and application of pertinent human resources rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.
  • Supervisory Experience: For certain positions, applicants must show supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects; by serving as a group or team leader, or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory and/or administrative capabilities exist; by completion of training assignments; or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.
Substitutions Allowed
  • Successful completion of a clerical curriculum at an accredited business or technical school may be substituted for the General Experience on a month-for-month basis up to a maximum of one (1) year.
  • Successful completion of an academic year in an accredited college or university above the high school level may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of General Experience and two (2) years of Specialized Experience.
