The United States Capitol Police (USCP) seeks qualified candidates for CP-10 and CP-11 level positions. Applicants will interpret and provide guidance on laws, regulations, and procedures, and support outreach to employees and managers under assigned programs.

Job description

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

CP-10 level
  • 1) interprets and provides instructions on laws, regulations,policies, and procedures, and develops guidance on appropriate courses ofaction;
  • 2) provides advice, guidance training, and outreach to employees andmanagers with assigned programs and projects;
  • 3) responds to difficultissues that involve complex projects, and problems that require expert adviceor authoritative policy.
CP-11 level
  • 1) interprets and provides instructions on laws, regulations,policies, and procedures, and develops guidance on appropriate courses ofaction;
  • 2) provides advice, guidance training, and outreach to employees andmanagers with assigned programs and projects;
