Human Resources Specialist role at Brooke Army Medical Center (Fort Sam Houston, Texas), supporting civilian HR personnel actions, awards, performance appraisal, records, and employee onboarding/system access.

Requirements
  • Background investigation required; appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on the completed investigation.
  • Personnel Security Investigation required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment; background investigation and credit check required.
  • Must sign a Condition of Employment statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations, or provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening required; Hepatitis B immunization required for all positions with direct patient contact; additional immunization proof may be required depending on position type.
  • Minimum 1 year of specialized experience, including creating or tracking personal actions and assisting with guidance on operating policies or procedures (typical of GS-07 second lower grade/level work).
  • Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field demonstrating knowledge and skills for the role, such as Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
  • Combination of education and experience may be used if the computed percentage of requirements is at least 100% (calculation method provided).
  • Foreign education requires a credential evaluation if used to meet qualification requirements.
