Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or Technical Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 4+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or similar environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Working knowledge of HR practices and applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of HRIS platform (e.g. Paylocity, ADP, UKG)
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, workplace concerns, and employee-relations matters.
  • Understand and advise on matters regarding federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and help ensure organizational compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Partner with management to address employee concerns fairly, consistently, and professionally.
  • Assist with performance management, employee development, training, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Maintain and administer HR policies, Employee Handbook, procedures, forms, and employee communications.
  • Monitor applicable employment-law and regulatory requirements and assist with maintaining HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment law including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other HR Compliance initiatives.
  • Act as back-up to the Recruiter for support function such as transition, recruiting and onboarding into ongoing employee support.
  • Act as back-up for payroll processing.
  • Review employee feedback and exit-interview information to identify opportunities for improvement.
