Applicants must be either permanent in the Staff Analyst civil service title or reachable on the current civil service exam #3116 list or be permanent in a comparable title eligible for 6.1.9 title change (e.g. Principal Administrative Associate II) or eligible for the 55-a program.

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County ("BXDA") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks a skilled and highly engaged Human Resources Recruitment Coordinator.

Human Resources (HR) is an integral part of the Bronx District Attorney's Office, playing a crucial role of shaping the agency culture, promoting career growth, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring the sustainability of the agency. The Human Resources Coordinator support the agency’s Human Resources functions including personnel services, classification, recruitment, civil service administration. This Human Resources Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for performing recruitment, on-boarding, and personnel activities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Creating job postings and ensure that job description follows citywide requirements and DCAS policies.
  • Reviewing applicant resumes and qualifications to determine suitability for meeting the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Coordinating the logistics of candidate interviews, including scheduling, panel coordination, and candidate communication.
  • Processing new hires, transfers and promotions in compliance with citywide requirements and DCAS policies.
  • Initiate all tracking and work processes in the recruitment and processing of the pre-selected candidates; ensure that the candidate completes the requested action.
  • Entering data for various personnel transactions within NYCAPS, as well as generate HR reports.
  • Representing the agency at hiring events (community fairs, job fairs and career fairs)
  • Managing civil service appointment list process and facilitate hiring pools.
  • Processing civil service transactions including DP-72 and DP-189.
  • Facilitating the onboarding of new hires and transfers by ensuring completion of all necessary documents and information have been reviewed and submitted, including civil service processing.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for selected candidates, managing communications, job offers, and onboarding paperwork (background checks, fingerprinting, etc.).
  • Review and maintain all pertinent pre-onboarding documentation.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment within NYCAPS eHire.
  • Assisting employees with navigating NYCAPS / ESS.
  • Providing updates on personnel transactions, positions, and vacancies as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full- time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area.

An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.

A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", "3", or "4" above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.

Preferred Skills
  • 3 years of Human Resources experience within NYC government - Experience working with City HRIS systems and applications, including SmartRecruiters, NYCAPS, PRISE, PMS, CHRMS - Proficient with using Adobe Pro, MS Office Suite and Outlook - Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with all levels at the agency - Strong analytical and computer skills - Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong and demonstrable skills in relationship-building, candidate sourcing, and database management
