Job summary

Roskam Foods, a Grand Rapids-based contract manufacturer, is seeking a People Operations professional to support payroll, timekeeping, HR records, recruitment, and compliance across our Michigan facilities. You will help ensure accurate records, coordinate interviews, and assist with training and employee relations in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and clear communication; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

We are passionate about multiplying possibilities for our employees and our partners.Roskam Foods produces and packages food products with the goal of consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations for quality, safety, and wholesomeness.Key Essential Functions/Duties:Payroll Support: complete required preparation tasks to ensure the smooth processing of weekly payroll. Collaborate with the payroll department when necessary to resolve discrepancies and provide support to the employees and leadership when questions arrive on payroll items.Timekeeping/Attendance support: complete required tasks within timekeeping and attendance systems.HR Record Keeping: Maintain and update employee records, both physical and digital, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection regulations.Recruitment Assistance: Assist in the recruitment process by scheduling interviews and coordinating candidate communication.Compliance: Ensure that HR practices and procedures adhere to relevant labor laws and regulations. Assist with compliance reporting and audits as requested.Training and Development: Help coordinate training programs. Maintain training records and monitor training completion.Employee Relations: Handle basic employee inquiries and concerns, escalating more complex issues to the People Operations Manager or Generalist as necessary.Documentation and Reporting: Prepare HR-related reports, presentations, and documents as requested by HR management or other departments.HR Communication: Assist in the distribution of HR policies, notices, and updates to employees. Promote HR initiatives and events.HR Software and Systems: Utilize HR software and systems for data entry, reporting, and record-keeping.
