Job summary

Christian Appalachian Project is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees and to maintain CAP's Time Management system. The role includes handling FMLA and other leave processing, updating position descriptions, and supporting compensation data management.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of payroll experience, familiarity with HRIS systems, and the ability to train staff on time management policies.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll or related HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll concepts (overtime, deductions, garnishments).
  • Experience with FMLA and other employee leave processing.
  • Ability to train employees and management on time management policies.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the payroll process, calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and processing checks.
  • Maintain Time Management system and review timesheets for accuracy.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries and prepare payroll reports for management.
  • Serve as liaison between supervisors and HR, update position descriptions and compensation data.
  • Administer FMLA and other leaves and monitor balances.

Members of our CAP staff commit to our core values of faith, service, and compassion.Summary:Serves as the primary point of contact for CAP’s HRIS and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees. Performs a variety of supporting duties related to payroll, including FMLA processing, other employee leave processing, employee position description maintenance, and compensation data management.Essential Job Functions:Responsible for all aspects of the HR Payroll process, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, processing manual checks, garnishments, deductions and all system updates. Responsible for maintaining CAP's Time Management system, reviewing time sheets for accuracy, and training employees and management on time management policies and responsibilities. Responds to payroll-related inquiries and prepares payroll reports for management. 45%Serves as liaison between supervisors and HR management, creating new and updating existing position descriptions. Assists HR management with updates and maintenance of compensation data management system.
