A major corporation in the greater Knoxville, TN area is seeking an HR Manager for its Trucking / Transportation division, which employs 450+ truck drivers and support personnel across multiple sites. This role leads a small HR team and plays a critical part in ensuring compliant, well-supported driver operations across multiple sites.

• BS degree required for consideration.
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred or required.
• Experience with FMCSA compliance and Driver Qualification files is essential.
• Background in Trucking/Transportation or logistics is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor two HR Generalists/Recruiters.
• Oversee driver background checks, medical screenings, and DOT physicals to ensure compliance.
• Hands-on involvement in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding drivers.
• Maintain and improve employee benefits programs.
• Develop new programs for retention, development, and training.

A major corporation in the greater Knoxville, TN area is seeking an HR Manager for its Trucking / Transportation division, which employs 450+ truck drivers and support personnel including terminal managers, dispatchers, routers, and driver supervisors. This role leads a small HR team and plays a critical part in ensuring compliant, well-supported driver operations across multiple sites.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor two HR Generalists / Recruiters
• Oversee Driver Background Checks, Pre-Employment Medical Screenings, and DOT Physicals to ensure coordination and compliance
• Take a hands-on role in interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding new drivers
• Maintain existing employee benefit programs
• Develop new programs focused on retention, employee development, and training
• Support multi-site HR operations across the division (minimal travel required)

Required qualifications

• BS degree
• PHR or SPHR certification
• Experience with FMCSA Compliance and Driver Qualification files
• Previous experience in the Truck Driving / Transportation industry or related Logistics field
