Job Description

Premier Brands Group Holdings Inc. is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for our Denim Wholesale Distribution Center in South Hill, VA. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assuring that benefit administration, recruitment, training, and utilization of the human resources of the Distribution Center(s) are in accordance with the philosophy and guidelines established by OJG. Decisions involve substantial and broad impact and risk to the organization.
  • Implements, maintains and advises on all policies and procedures utilized in the operations of OJG.
  • Ensuring the compensation system for all management, administration and hourly non‑exempt employees is competitive in the marketplace, and internal equity throughout the facility is maintained.
  • Providing a means of assuring open communications for all associates.
  • Administrating and communicating all aspects of associates’ benefit programs.
  • Selects or identifies candidates for employment/termination, conducts and reviews performance evaluations, and maintains an effective, timely hiring and orientation program to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Ensuring compliance with EEOC, State Department Employment Security, Workers’ Compensation, AAP, OSHA and assuring proper timely submission of mandated reports in accordance with federal and state requirements.
  • Acting in accordance with pre‑established guidelines and processes.
  • Escalating issues to senior management.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with operations and warehouse associates to understand current issues and dispense advice with recommendations.
  • Managing general Distribution Center operations, associates and staffing agencies.
  • Devising and developing effective communications between and among management and associates to promote morale and create an environment conducive to reduced costs and increased productivity.
  • Resolving issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensuring department costs are controlled.
  • Building an environment that supports cooperation and cohesiveness among the work team and other areas within the organization.
  • Using reliable, independent and sound judgment in decision making.
  • Possessing advanced interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Successfully managing multiple projects and competing priorities while balancing quality with meeting deadlines.

  • BA or BS degree with a concentration in Human Resources preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR preferred.
  • Minimum of four to ten (4‑10) years of Human Resources experience with a heavy emphasis in Employee Relations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Federal and State employment law.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology (MS Office, HRIS, time‑keeping systems) to gather, interpret, analyze and present data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function in an ever‑changing environment.

Salary Range: Actual base salary for this role within the above range will be based upon experience, qualifications and/or assigned unit.
