Job description

The successful HR Manager leads the City’s day-to-day human resources operations while remaining directly engaged in the work alongside a small team of direct reports. This position oversees HR customer service and employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding and offboarding, personnel records, employment verification, and related compliance activities. The manager also provides oversight of civil service administration and supports departmental contracts, procurement, budget activities, and other operational functions necessary to keep Human Resources running effectively. Working closely with the HR Director and other HR leaders, this position helps ensure consistent processes, responsive service, accurate records, and effective support for employees, supervisors, and departments throughout the organization. A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in human resources, public administration, organizational development or a related field; and five years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, are required. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) is preferred; other Human Resources related certifications may be beneficial. Must have strong knowledge of laws and regulations relating to all HR/employment functions, and principles and procedures for compliance with federal and state employment law. PAY GRADE GG30 / FULL PAY RANGE $8,315 – $11,725 PER MONTH
