Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR management experience in distribution or industrial settings.

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Experience with OSHA/worker safety and payroll coordination is a plus.

Position Overview

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for leading the Human Resources function at the Greer Distribution Center while serving as a strategic partner to site leadership. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the HR Manager oversees day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, benefits, workers' compensation, and HRIS administration.

In addition to HR responsibilities, the HR Manager has direct oversight of the site's Security and Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) responsibilities. This position works closely with Operations, Safety, IT, Payroll, and Corporate leadership to maintain a safe, secure, compliant, and productive work environment.

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced distribution environment and can effectively balance employee-focused HR responsibilities with operational, security, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Leadership
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day HR function for the Greer Distribution Center.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the HR Coordinator.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to employees, supervisors, and site leadership regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Partner with managers and supervisors on employee relations, attendance, performance, corrective action, and workplace issues.
  • Conduct and/or support employee investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up.
  • Promote consistent and fair application of company policies and procedures.
  • Support a positive workplace culture aligned with DMA's values.
Recruiting, Staffing & Onboarding
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions at the Distribution Center.
  • Partner with site leadership to identify staffing needs and develop workforce plans.
  • Manage relationships with temporary staffing agencies and recruiting partners.
  • Monitor staffing levels, vacancies, turnover, and recruiting activity.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding and ensure required HR, benefits, payroll, and training processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support New Hire Orientation and the successful integration of new employees.
  • Partner with leadership to identify training and development opportunities.
Employee Relations, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Maintain strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
  • Partner with Safety and site leadership to promote a safe work environment.
  • Oversee workers' compensation processes, including injury reporting, claims coordination, and return-to-work programs.
  • Identify potential HR and employment risks and partner with the CHRO to address concerns.Maintain accurate and confidential employee documentation.
  • Support audits, investigations, and other compliance initiatives as needed.
Benefits, Payroll & HRIS
  • Serve as the site’s primary HR resource for employee benefits and benefits-related questions.
  • Support annual open enrollment and ongoing benefits administration.
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate employee information, timekeeping, and payroll-related processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information.
  • Ensure required personnel and employment records are complete, accurate, and confidential.
  • Utilize HRIS and other technology to support HR operations and reporting.
Security & FTZ Oversight
  • Directly oversee the Security function at the Greer Distribution Center.
  • Ensure compliance with DMA's Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) requirements, including appropriate entry and exit procedures and documentation.
  • Oversee visitor access procedures, including credentials, badges, and required safety/security equipment.
  • Ensure appropriate use and monitoring of access control systems, alarms, fire panels, and related security platforms.
  • Oversee security patrols and ensure incidents are properly documented, reported, and addressed.
  • Ensure Security procedures are consistently followed throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate and maintain appropriate radio and communication procedures.
  • Support first-responder coordination and facility emergency procedures.
  • Conduct or coordinate required security and compliance checks.
  • Partner with Operations, IT, Safety, and Corporate leadership regarding facility security and FTZ compliance.
  • Identify security, loss prevention, and compliance risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with the CHRO and Corporate HR on company-wide HR initiatives, policies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Payroll, IT, Finance, and other departments on site initiatives.
  • Provide HR guidance and coaching to supervisors and managers.
  • Support organizational changes, policy implementation, and employee initiatives.
  • Prepare and communicate HR metrics and trends to site and Corporate leadership.
  • Monitor key metrics including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruiting activity, employee relations, and workers' compensation.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR management experience, preferably in a distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory or people-management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with employee relations, investigations, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning.
  • Experience managing or coordinating workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution/industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Experience in distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or a similar industrial environment.
  • Experience with Security and Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
  • Experience with high-volume hourly recruiting and temporary staffing agencies.
  • Experience with HR metrics, reporting, and workforce analytics.

Work Environment

This position operates in both an office and distribution center environment. The HR Manager must be comfortable regularly working on the warehouse floor, interacting with employees and leadership, and navigating a fast-paced industrial environment.

Occasional work outside of normal business hours may be required to support employee needs, investigations, meetings, security matters, or operational requirements.
