Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Senior HR Manager to lead the organization's people strategy in Mettawa, IL. You will own talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance, training, and policy development.

You will partner with leadership to ensure HR practices align with business objectives, support employee growth, and maintain a positive, compliant workplace. Experience in construction-related environments is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HR leadership or HR management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws/regulations.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting.
  • Experience onboarding new employees and building onboarding programs.
  • Strong employee relations skills and handling confidential matters.
  • Experience administering performance reviews and development support.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, payroll processes, HR policies, and handbooks.
  • Ability to identify training needs and coordinate programs for growth.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with HR software; BambooHR or similar HRIS preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Construction/general contracting industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full spectrum of HR functions: talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, training, and policy development.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for employee matters and coordinate with leadership to align HR with business objectives.

  • 3+ years of progressive experience as an HR Manager, HR Generalist, or similar HR leadership professional.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, selection, and offer management.
  • Experience developing and supporting effective employee onboarding processes.
  • Strong employee relations skills with the ability to address workplace concerns, grievances, and sensitive employee matters professionally and confidentially.
  • Experience administering performance review processes and supporting managers with employee feedback and development.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, payroll processes, HR policies, and employee handbooks.
  • Ability to identify training and development needs and coordinate programs that support employee growth.
  • Strong communication, active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with HR software and payroll systems; experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification is a strong plus.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential employee information.
  • Construction or general contracting industry experience is preferred but not required.
