About the role

This is a high-impact role where you’ll build robust HR processes, support operational excellence, and help execute our PE-backed growth plan through disciplined talent and performance management.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salary roles across production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and office functions.
  • Partner with the COO and plant leaders on headcount planning, labour cost analysis, and staffing strategy to support production targets and growth/add-on acquisitions.
Employee relations & performance management
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee issues; coach supervisors on performance, discipline, and difficult conversations.
  • Manage investigations, grievances, and terminations in line with policy and law; run structured performance review and goal-setting cycles.
HR policies, compliance & risk (manufacturing focus)
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies for a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and Florida employment laws (wage & hour, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, workers’ comp, OSHA-related collaboration with EHS).
Compensation, benefits & payroll coordination
  • Administer benefits programs, manage open enrollment, and work with brokers on cost-effective plans for hourly and salaried teams.
  • Oversee or coordinate payroll preparation and approvals; support labour cost tracking and reporting for the COO/CFO.
  • Identify training needs for frontline leaders and key plant roles; coordinate technical and leadership training pathways.
  • Drive engagement, safety culture, and retention initiatives tailored to shift-based manufacturing teams.
HR operations, systems & reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS; standardise onboarding/offboarding and core HR workflows.
  • Provide regular HR metrics to the COO (turnover, absenteeism, time-to-fill, overtime, workers’ comp, engagement) and contribute to PE reporting packs and diligence on add-ons.
What you’ll bring
  • Strong level of HR experience
  • Manufacturing, CPG or industrial environment sector experience highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of US employment law, plus practical experience with hourly/shift-based workforces and union/non-union settings as applicable.
  • Proven ability to build practical HR processes from scratch and improve existing ones (recruiting, onboarding, performance, policies).
  • Excellent stakeholder management; confident partnering with a COO, plant managers, and senior ops leaders.
  • HR degree or related field; SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Experience in a private equity–backed or high-growth company is desirable; comfortable with rapid change, KPIs, and value-creation plans.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and HR analytics; advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills are a plus.
