Job summary

Silver Bay Seafoods, LLC is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead on-site operations at the West Seattle site. You will act as a strategic partner, drive employee relations, payroll accuracy, and policy compliance while aligning local practices with corporate standards across our family of companies.

You will manage benefits enrollment, leave programs (FMLA/ADA/workers' comp), and collaborate with Corporate Talent Acquisition to execute recruitment, onboarding, and high-volume seasonal

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Background in manufacturing or food processing; experience with satellite locations.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification required.
• Proactive approach with high emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite HR leader, championing culture and operational excellence.
• Oversee employee relations, talent acquisition, payroll, and compliance.
• Conduct workplace investigations and ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate local benefits enrollment and complex leave programs.
• Partner with Corporate Talent Acquisition and payroll for onboarding and wage compliance.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a key HR leader on-site, you will champion our people, protect our culture, and drive operational excellence across employee relations, talent acquisition, payroll, and compliance. Your daily impact will directly support our workforce and ensure our facilities run smoothly by:

• Fostering a Culture of Trust: Acting as the primary, trusted point of contact for managers and employees, promoting open communication, and guiding teams through constructive performance management and employee relations.
• Protecting Our People and Workplace Integrity: Conducting thorough workplace investigations, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies, and maintaining strict compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Driving Talent & Onboarding Excellence: Partnering closely with our Corporate Talent Acquisition team to execute localized recruitment strategies, lead high-volume seasonal hiring surges, and deliver an exceptional onboarding experience that integrates new hires seamlessly into our site culture.
• Ensuring Accurate Pay and Benefits Support: Managing local benefits enrollment, supporting complex leave programs (FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation), and partnering with corporate payroll to guarantee accurate timekeeping and wage‑and‑hour compliance.
• Partnering for Site Safety & Continuous Improvement: Collaborating with operations and Corporate Compliance leadership to support safety training, incident reporting, and return‑to‑work programs while championing ongoing process improvements.
• Strengthening Administrative & Compliance Operations: Maintaining flawless personnel records, managing I‑9 compliance, and supporting internal reviews, reporting, and site‑wide initiatives.

Who You Are

• Experienced Leader: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
• Industry Savvy: Background in manufacturing or food processing; experience with "satellite" locations.
• Certified Pro: PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP required.
• Proactive Doer: Initiative‑taker who tackles problems without constant oversight and possesses high emotional intelligence.

The Details

• Schedule: Full-time, on-site (Monday–Friday) at the Orca Bay Foods facility, West Seattle WA.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• Travel: While based in West Seattle, occasional visits to other locations may be required.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $125,000 + Annual Discretionary Bonus
