Sunrise Senior Living in California seeks an HR Manager to lead workforce strategy and employee engagement across the community.

You will manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits and compliance while partnering with leadership to drive retention and exceptional resident care. The role requires strong HR knowledge, leadership experience and integrity in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5 years HR generalist experience
• 3+ years supervisory/leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices
• High integrity handling confidential information
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes.
• Provide guidance on team member relations, performance management and coaching.
• Oversee payroll processing, timekeeping and benefits administration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial and company employment laws.
• Maintain personnel files, HRIS data and required postings.
• Manage workers’ compensation and OSHA compliance initiatives.
• Monitor performance evaluations, merit increases and engagement planning.
• Support annual budgeting and labor management strategies.
• Deliver HR training and Sunrise University program oversight.
• Partner with leadership to drive retention, accountability and team success.

What We’re Looking For:
