Job description

About ScaleWRX

ScaleWRX is a growing company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of data center containment solutions. As we continue to grow our team and operations, we are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Human Resources Manager to join us onsite and take ownership of our day‑to‑day HR functions.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating structure, solving problems, and helping a growing company develop strong and consistent HR practices.

The Role

The Human Resources Manager will serve as the primary onsite HR resource for our employees and leadership team. This person will support the full employee lifecycle—from recruiting and onboarding through employee relations, benefits, compliance, performance management, and offboarding.

We are looking for someone who is approachable and employee-focused, while also being comfortable enforcing policies, handling sensitive situations, and advising managers on HR best practices. Because ScaleWRX operates in a fast‑paced manufacturing and construction environment, the ideal candidate will be comfortable wearing multiple hats and working closely with office, production, and field employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR questions, concerns, and workplace issues.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and new‑hire orientation.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including coaching, documentation, corrective action, and workplace investigations.
  • Partner with managers and leadership on performance management and employee development.
  • Administer employee benefits and assist employees with enrollment and benefit‑related questions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure required documentation is completed and retained.
  • Manage and maintain company policies and the employee handbook.
  • Support payroll administration and coordinate employee changes, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll‑related information.
  • Oversee leave administration, including FMLA and other applicable federal and state leave requirements.
  • Manage workers' compensation and workplace injury documentation in coordination with management and insurance partners.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support HR compliance as the company operates and employs team members in multiple states.
  • Assist with I-9s, E-Verify, background checks, drug testing, and other pre‑employment requirements.
  • Maintain HR systems and employee information.
  • Track HR metrics and identify opportunities to improve processes.
  • Help develop scalable HR procedures as the company continues to grow.
  • Foster a positive, professional workplace culture and serve as a trusted resource for both employees and management.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience independently handling employee relations and HR compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required; equivalent relevant HR experience will be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience handling employee relations and sensitive/confidential matters.
  • Experience with benefits administration, onboarding, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, construction, skilled trades, or a similar workforce is strongly preferred.
  • Multi‑state HR experience is a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms; Rippling experience is a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and follow issues through to completion.
  • Comfortable working in a growing company where processes are continuing to evolve.
What We're Looking For

The right person for this position will be someone employees feel comfortable approaching and managers trust for sound HR guidance. You should be able to balance empathy with accountability and understand that HR's role is to support both our employees and the needs of the business.

We value people who see something that needs to be addressed and take initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do. ScaleWRX is growing quickly, so flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to create structure in a changing environment are important.

Why Join ScaleWRX?

This role offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on how HR operates as ScaleWRX continues to grow. Rather than stepping into a narrowly defined corporate HR position, you will have the opportunity to help shape processes, improve the employee experience, support our leadership team, and build an HR function that can grow with the company.
