We are partnering with a start up in the restaurant industry seeking an HR Manager. This is a broad HR role responsible for payroll, benefits, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and HR compliance. The HR Manager will serve as a trusted resource to both leadership and employees while helping build scalable HR processes as the company grows. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, solutions‑oriented HR professional who can work with leadership as well as frontline employees.

Responsibilities:

• Experience scaling organizations through multi-location expansion.
• Strong knowledge of Multi-state labor laws, Contractor regulations, Hourly workforce compliance, Employee relations, Experience managing turnover and attrition in high-volume environments.
• Comfortable building HR processes, policies, and infrastructure from the ground up.
• Able to work independently and identify solutions without significant oversight.
• Manage payroll, timekeeping, and employee records, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and employee support.
• Manage recruitment and hiring for hourly, supervisory, and administrative roles.
• Own the onboarding and offboarding process.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations, performance issues, attendance, and workplace concerns.
• Partner with managers on employee performance, coaching, and disciplinary matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, New York State, and NYC employment laws.
• Maintain HR policies, employee files, and required documentation.
• Partner with the Director of Kitchen Operations on staffing, workforce planning, and day‑to‑day people issues.
• Track key HR metrics, including headcount, turnover, hiring, and attendance.
• Support employee engagement, retention, and development initiatives.

Requirements:

• Experience in the hospitality, food service, retail, or other high-volume environment
• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

Compensation: $125,000-150,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications.
