Job summary

Reach for Resources is seeking a Human Resources Manager in Minneapolis to serve as a key HR partner for employees, managers, and leadership. The role independently oversees day-to-day HR operations and provides guidance on sensitive employee matters.

You will lead onboarding, investigations, leave administration, benefits, and ensure compliance with employment laws. The position requires strong judgment, exceptional communication, and the ability to work across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive HR experience; 4+ years preferred.
• Experience with employee relations, performance management, HR administration, and compliance.
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA accommodations, STD/LTD, and Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave is a plus.

This role serves as a key HR partner to employees, managers, and leadership, independently overseeing day-to-day HR operations while providing thoughtful guidance on sensitive and complex employee matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees, managers, and leadership.
• Manage employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, and investigations.
• Support leave administration, ADA accommodations, benefits, and compliance.
• Lead onboarding, orientation, offboarding, and HR processes.
• Administer Paylocity HRIS and maintain accurate, confidential employee records.
• Develop and deliver HR and manager training.
• Monitor employment law and compliance requirements and help implement policy updates.
• Partner with the Executive Team, Finance, and external employment counsel on HR matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve employee experience, compliance, and HR processes.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of progressive HR experience; 4+ years preferred.
• Experience with employee relations, performance management, HR administration, and compliance.
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA accommodations, STD/LTD, and employment laws; Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave experience is a plus.
• Strong judgment and communication skills, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• HRIS experience; Paylocity experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across the organization.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Organizational Leadership, or related field
• SHRM, PHR, SPHR, or similar certification
• Experience with workplace investigations, benefits administration, policy development, and/or mission-driven organizations.
