Job description

The Human Resources Manager at HomeSource owns the full HR function: payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and HRIS. It's a hands‑on role at a company where HR is a real operational priority, not a shared service or afterthought.

Since 2011, HomeSource has been building retail software for independent appliance, furniture, mattress, and plumbing retailers. The team in Marlton has grown steadily, and the HR function needs to grow with it. This is a chance to build processes and policies that will hold up as the company scales.

Day to day, you'll run payroll accurately and on time, maintain employee records, manage benefits enrollment, and be the person employees trust when they have questions or concerns. You'll also work with leadership on culture, engagement, and performance — the things that determine whether good people stay.

The right candidate has 5+ years of progressive HR experience, a strong command of payroll compliance, and ideally a SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification. You're organized, discreet, and capable of working both strategically and in the details on the same day.

The Role
What you'll be doing.

Full ownership of HR operations, from payroll and compliance to culture and performance.

Manage Payroll End to End

Run payroll processing with accuracy and on-time execution. Maintain records, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with Finance for reporting and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Oversee benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries. Partner with vendors to keep programs running smoothly and ensure employees understand what they have access to.

Maintain Compliance

Keep company policies aligned with applicable labor laws. Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements and support compensation compliance with wage and hour regulations.

Develop, revise, and communicate HR policy and employee handbook updates. Keep documentation current, accessible, and easy for employees to act on.

Support Employees

Act as a trusted, discreet resource for employees with workplace concerns. Handle sensitive situations with fairness, confidentiality, and consistency.

Build a Strong Culture

Partner with leadership to promote an inclusive, collaborative workplace. Lead initiatives that improve employee engagement and day-to-day satisfaction.

Oversee the performance review cycle — consistent, fair, and useful. Support managers in applying best practices and identifying employee development needs.

Maintain the HRIS

Keep data accurate across HR systems, produce regular reports for leadership, and develop the metrics that show how the HR function is performing over time.

Lead HR Projects

Take ownership of special projects that improve organizational efficiency — process improvements, compliance initiatives, training programs, and anything else that makes operations run better.
